Help Protect the Environment with American Express and Water's Edge
The eco-friendly movement is rapidly making its way to Nicaragua in various forms. Kelly Slater, 8X world champion surfer, has recently focused some of his efforts south of San Juan del Sur to help protect turtle nesting areas and local beaches. Now, American Express will make a donation to The Conservation Fund for every online booking made with an American Express Card at any of these participating travel merchant partners with a presence in Nicaragua: Delta Air Lines, Hilton Hotels, Avis Rent a Car and Budget Rent a Car. The Hilton Princess in Managua is conveniently located near the city's best restaurants and nightlife, and Budget Rent a Car provides service in multiple locations including the Managua airport, Granada, and at the border with Costa Rica.
The Plan-It Green initiative will generate up to $300,000 for the Fund's land and water conservation efforts. Although the Conservation Fund's efforts are focused in the United States at this time, their principles are shared by many real estate developers in Nicaragua. To help bring these efforts further down to the local level, when you take a property tour with Water's Edge, and more importantly, when you purchase property through Water's Edge, we will make a donation to a local charity dedicated to educating the local community about environmental sustainability.
