If you are familiar with San Juan del Sur, you know that the Hotel Villa Isabella has a reputation for being one of Nicaragua´s best North American style hotels. What you may not know is that a couple years ago the owners decided to implement a condo-hotel element to their business by offering fully managed condominiums for sale, and owners have been receiving a steady and solid return on investment since then.
The constant tourism growth and demand for hotel services in San Juan del Sur has prompted the Villa Isabella to offer yet another great real estate opportunity. Casa Marina is a five story condominium complex situated on San Juan del Sur´s main beach boulevard that will also be fully managed by the Villa Isabella. So if you are looking for a solid return on investment and comfortable vacation property, contact us for more details about Casa Marina. |

Greetings from San Juan del Sur! Nicaragua´s tourism and real estate industries have just experienced another big press coverage month including a write-up by USA Today.
February is historically a peak time for tourism in Nicaragua, and this year we have definitely seen an increase in the number of visitors compared to the same time last year. This increase has created a boom in tourism related service industries, including hotels, restaurants, banking, airport shuttles, vacation homes, rental cars and others. New businesses are opening and existing businesses are expanding to meet the demand. With more visitors comes more demand for real estate investments, and of course the opportunity to get in at the right time. |

Getting to Your Money |
|
|
When we first moved to San Juan del Sur over three years ago, banking services were non-existent in town. If you wanted cash you had to drive to Rivas, about 30 minutes away. If you brought Travelers Cheques you could not use them anywhere. We were lucky that everything was so inexpensive, allowing our dollars to last much longer than in other parts of Central America!
Oh how times have changed. Pretty soon we may need our own financial district because our little sleepy fishing village now has THREE full service, well air-conditioned banks and a stand-alone ATM. Bancentro is the most recent to move in, joining BDF, Banco ProCredit, and BAC . Getting to your money has become much easier, but all banks in Nicaragua enforce some common rules…no shirt, no shoes, no service, and you must turn off your cell phone before entering. As if your pet didn´t already have a great lifestyle, he or she can now take it to the next level in Nicaragua while feeling safe about available healthcare services. Last year the Stones and Waves Veterinary Clinic & Wildlife Center was opened in San Juan del Sur to provide a wide range of animal rescue, animal healthcare and wildlife services. The Clinic provides critical care for animals and wildlife, and more importantly, educational programs for the community to learn more about the importance of caring for and preserving natural resources
Led by Dr. Jim Dinsmore, D.V.M. (member IUCN, UNFAO, WWF, Rotary International) and staffed by volunteers from around the world, Stones and Waves is a component of the A. Jean Brugger Foundation and Pelican Eyes, providing no-fee animal healthcare assistance for local residents working with draft animals such as horses or oxen, as well as for local pets when medical supplies allow. We recently adopted a dog in town, and are very appreciative to Dr. Jim and his staff for helping us make it so easy. If you have a pet and have questions about moving him or her to Nicaragua, or if you are simply an animal lover and want to make a donation to the Stones and Waves Clinic, send an email to veterinarian@piedrasyolas.com |
