Provided by www.sanjuandelsurguide.com

All foreigners must have a valid and current passport to enter Nicaragua. Passports should be valid for at least six months after the date of entry. There is a US$5.00 charge to enter the country (must be paid in US Dollars or Cordobas).

Visas are required for citizens of Afghanistan, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Columbia, Cuba, Haiti, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Nepal, Pakistan, People’s Republic of China, Peoples Republic of Korea, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Yugoslavia.

All others are automatically given a visa good for three months.

To extend your visa you will have to go to the Office of Immigration in Managua.
(Telephone 011-505-244-0741)
Extensions are not always granted, are valid for one month at a time, and cost US$25.00.

Some travelers may find it easier to cross an international border into Costa Rica or Honduras and then return the same day.

All foreign Embassies and Consulates are located in Managua.
